What is October Country?

It is a state of mind, really. My state of mind. Where all my favorite things reside and flourish... books, art, poetry, creativity and more...

Where autumn winds rattle the windows, sending leaves skittering down the lane in a headlong rush toward winter...

Where books and primitives and Grandmother's things line the shelves in curious but harmonious diversity...

Where cocoa laced with Irish Creme is always brewing...

Where the raucous caw-caw of crows is welcome, and Jack-O'-Lanterns glow and Witches cackle...

365 days a year...

I am the Octoberwych. I bid you Welcome to my Heart's Home. Enter of your own free will in the spirit of peace and good cheer.

an infernal fascination

Autumn people...

That country where it is always turning late in the year. That country where the hills are fog and the rivers are mist; where noons go quickly, dusks and twilights, and midnights stay. That country composed in the main of cellars, sub-cellars, coal-bins, closets, attics, and pantries faced away from the sun. That country whose people are autumn people, thinking only autumn thoughts. Whose people passing at night on the empty walks sound like rain...
